A Behind the Scenes Look
We are constantly getting questions about what products we use in our day-to-day lives in the RV, so I’m going to blog about some of our favorites over the summer. These are all items that we have found and decided to give a try based on recommendations from others. If there is something you think we should try, please leave us a comment and let us know!
Its Not That Easy
We still drink pop (“soda”, if you are not from the midwest). Sometimes we drink a lot of it. When we had a house, we had a refrigerator in the garage specifically for pop. So, when we moved to the RV, we needed a place to keep a day or two’s worth cool without taking up too much of our limited refrigerator room. We also needed an organizer that was sturdy enough to handle being jostled during normal RV travel.
What We Got
While the wire racks seemed to hold more cans, we chose the plastic topless organizer as it would hold up to 9 cans and seemed more compact and better able to withstand travel. They do travel well and are easy to load and unload.
What We Did
We cleaned out 1/2 of the shelf above the bottom bins in the refrigerator and put the organizers side by side – one for each type of pop. The organizers keep the cans sorted, so its much easier to grab exactly what you are looking for upon opening the door.
Overall Verdict
We paid roughly $10 each, which seemed a bit spendy, but we haven’t found them cheaper anywhere else. The organizers are easy to clean and stow when space is needed for other foods. The organizers can also easily hold more than 9 cans but we would not recommend traveling with them filled with more than 5 cans.
For us, these organizers fall in the definitely nice to have bucket. We could manage without them, but they help so much with making the most of our limited space that we prefer not to do without.
