Fort Rucker KOA

Fort Rucker KOA was the best surprise as we traveled from Atlanta to the Florida panhandle. Fort Rucker is clean, quiet, friendly and beautiful. We have added this to our ‘will come back if we are in the area’ map. It is not a destination but rather a great place if you are close and want all of the qualities of KOA, including propane fill up.

Concrete pads and they do not mind if you wash your rig either. This was a great 5 day break for us and thank Fort Rucker for the great service!

Is the campground scenic and fun to just walk around?

Yes, it is small, but there is a pond that you can walk around and attention to landscaping that makes walking very relaxing.

Are the sites shady for your RV?

Some shade for most sites, but there is a strip of sites that does not have shade.

Are there enough full hookups?

Yes, everything at Fort Rucker is full hookup.

is 50 AMP service available?

No issues here…

How is the Campground Wifi?

Fort Rucker had Wifi, but it was only for checking email and not for streaming. No issues with our hotspot getting service.

Is there Verizon 4G LTE service?

Full 5 bars on our Verizon Hotspot.

Is there any on-site entertainment?

No entertainment at Fort Rucker (while we were there).

How far away are local food establishments?

Ozark is only 10 minutes from Fort Rucker KOA, they have numerous restaurants and shopping.

Do they pick up garbage onsite?

No, dumpster was about 5 sites away.

Are there ‘walking’ trails onsite?

No.

is there food on-site?

No.

Can you get DirecTV service?

No issues with DirecTV service.

Any ‘Hiking’ trails on-site or nearby?

No trails onsite.

Are there fire-pits at each site or communal?

No firepits at each location, not sure if they allow movable pits or not.

how easy is the campground to find?

Very easy as Fort Rucker is right off the highway.
