Cherry Hill Park – Review

The park is located in an industrial park, so while scenic from most sites, a 5 min walk in any direction puts you either next to water treatment plants, heavy machinery shops or walking next to a concrete drainage channel.

The sites are shady for the most part, the only issue with this is if you have a roof mount satellite, you will likely not get coverage.

Connections were good as far as having water, sewer and electric. The facility could use an upgrade to the actual connections to bring them current.

No issues with the 50amp power.

As many of our readers know, we live on the internet. We use the internet to watch movies, work, play etc… Having mobile internet is what makes this lifestyle work for us.

When we pulled into this campground, we started having issues with our Verizon Hotspot. When I say issues, I mean we had to reboot our hotspot every 10 minutes because it would no longer provide access out to the internet. After a ton of reading and research, it appears that this location is so heavy with signals, that are hotspot has trouble finding open channels to transmit on, we tried tethering, static channels and every other setting to no success. Due to our issues (in general) with public Wifi, we did not connect to the parks wifi to test that out.

We had 5 full bars of LTE service (first time at a campground with 5 full bars!)

Nothing going on that we were made aware of.

This is in the city proper, so not far to nearly anything you might want to do in Tulsa.

Garbage is picked up onsite on Tuesday’s and Friday’s. You simply leave it at the curb and a garbage truck comes through each street like they do in residential neighborhoods.

There are great walking paths onsite and also across the street from the park entrance. We did not see much traffic on either of the paths.

No food onsite at all.

We were unable to get any satellite service due to heavy trees to the south on on site.

Since Cherry Hill is in the middle of the city, there are not any ‘hiking’ trails on site. They do have walking paths, just not hiking.

There is a no open fire rule in this park, so no camp fires at all.

Cherry Hill is 5 minutes off of I-44, super easy to find compared to parks that are out in the country. Easy signage and when we made the reservation over the phone, the person made sure to give us directions before we hung up.
